"My ideas come to me from many sources, and in such harmony with my personal experiences that I can turn them into these fairy compositions. My Angels are my consolers, leaders, companions, guards. They often show me the small ironies and other things to make me smile even in life's most awesome events.”

'Born in Germany, 1901, Sulamith Wülfing spent most of her life in the Wuppertal area. She received no formal art training, but from the age of four was painting angels, and 'her earliest memories include seeing the angels, gnomes and small, delicate creatures which always populated her drawings.' In close to seventy years produced a unique body of work which is at once a serene statement of her personal feelings and beliefs, yet universal in appeal.
Under the Nazi regime her books were often burned and she was warned repeatedly to paint by the rules at the time.’
